Living Room Re-Vamp

I have accumulated some nice things over the last 2ish years... The biggest problem with it, though, was that some of the living room furniture was black and some was brown. Soooo, I decided it was time to "unify" the look.

This is a "before" photo... You can see the black curtains, tv stand, and yes, in the bottom, left-hand corner, even a

black moon chair! Yikes!

And then notice the brown couch and ottoman.

Obviously, since those are the largest

{and nicest, most expensive}

pieces in the room, they won the

black/brown contest.

I don't yet have an "after" photo yet, but I do have a picture of an addition to the room. First, let me tell the story =)

I have been wanting to get a chair to replace that moon chair since Day 1. Unfortunately it has taken nearly 2 yrs to do so!

I found this "beauty" at Goodwill... for $15

It is quite a sight, but once I sat down in it, I was in love!

Yes, it is denim.. but look at the potential!

{You'd understand if you could sit in it!}

So, my sister

{who was treasure hunting with me}

and I decided it HAD to come home with me.

So, it did!

And after its face lift, with much help from my

 wonderful Mom...

{which was the first time either of us had done

anything like this before!}

This is what it looks like.....

Now all it needs it a throw and some pillows and we're

good to go!

Its been a loooong time!

Ok, its been a long time since I have blogged, but I decided to give it a shot. I got some inspiration looking at friends blogs, and I used to love to blog... so why not?!

This is all a process, figuring out what format I like, what background to use, etc... so bear with me =)

Also, I'll warn anyone who reads this..... sometimes if I have a lot on my mind, I tend to ramble. I promise I will stop eventually, but sometimes thats how I "vent".. workn on it though!

So today was the season opener for the Hawkeyes. I got to watch it at my grandparents house.. woohoo! thanks Gma and Gpa!

The feel of fall, the cool mornings {which are fabulous for running, by the way!}, the beginning of football season... Ahh! It is great. I have never loved and anticipated fall as much as I do this year. Can't explain it here, but it is near and dear to my heart.
